Dear colleagues,

 

On behalf of ASIC – Association for Science and Information on Coffee – I have great pleasure in inviting you to Bali, Indonesia, from October 3rd to 8th, 2010, for the 23rd International Conference on Coffee Science – ASIC 2010. This major international conference has been organized for more than 40 years by ASIC, the unique scientific coffee association bringing together world-wide coffee specialists from the most important countries, industries, universities and research institutes as well as business sector.

 

The ASIC 2010 Conference will present the latest findings in scientific research and technological developments in the coffee area. All topics that will be treated are among the most interesting for the coffee economy - as for example the climate change and coffee sustainability in the agronomic area as well as the relation between health and coffee consumption.

 

This edition gains particular interest because of Indonesia has grown coffee more than three centuries and up to now still play its important role in the world coffee economy. This conference is also in conjunction with the celebration of a century of the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute (ICCRI), the focal institution of Organizing Committee in this conference.

 

ASIC 2010 will offer intense programs for the integration and networking among participants. This includes cultural visits to Arabica smallholding farms at Kintamani highland. The social program with a  warm welcome dinner as well as a gala dinner with animated traditional Balinese performance will certainly delight participants and accompanying persons.

 

Indonesia is a hospitable country full of natural beauties and touring opportunities which you should not miss. Bali is a fascinating and vibrant island, with good hotels, restaurants, malls and a very traditional touch.
